BENESOUEF - VERY RARE RED OCCUPATION MARK ON COVER TO TAX DIRECTOR REYNIER IN CAIRO; Very fine 11 Dec. 1800 EL (small corner repair at top left of address-panel does not detract) from "[General?] Laparouse" in "Benessuef" to "Citoyen Reynier, Directuer des revenus en nature et du mobilier national, Kaire", sent free as official mail but having a very fine claret-red "BENESOUEF." mark (only recorded Oct. 1799 - Mar. 1801) nicely placed on the front. Possibly the finest example of this rare mark recorded. Exhibition Quality.
