PORTUGAL - "ARM. DE PORTUGAL" MARKS - "Bau. Gal." (BLACK OR RED) & "No.14" TYPES; 6 June 1811 EL (family letter from a soldier) from Salamanca to Nice charged "10" dec.) with a very fine black "Bau. Gal./ARM. DE PORTUGAL" on the front (with a chisel-slit for disinfection) - writer was about to go to Rodrigo and gives advice about sending letters; plus similar c.1812 E (some toning) to Remmerstal with the same "Bau. Gal." mark but in red, and 20 Aug. 1810 EL (some creasing and small tear into address-panel; long personal letter ref. life in the military etc.) from "Sanatoria"(?) to Paris University charged "10" (dec.) with a very fine "No.14/ARM.
