A cased pair of Japanese dolls depicting Ren Jishi actors by Kyugetsu of Tokyo - second half 20th century, the two dolls depicting theatre actors playing the father and son from the play Ren Jishi, who have transformed into the two Lions, their white faces in gofun (oyster shell paste), both wearing elaborate, stiff robes, on wooden plinths inside an ebonised glazed case, with matching wall bracket. (case LWH 79 x 45.5 x 60 cm).
