Victorian gilded papier mache jewellery box, circa 1850, decorated with anthemion and with mother of pearl escutcheon, opening to an interior with a tray, all raised on squat bun feet, with key, 27cm x 22cm x 11cm

The top has wear to the gilt and painted detail at the extremities. There is similar wear to the detail on the back edge around the base. There is a lock present and a key that works. There are some replaced screws in one of the hinges.
