Oil on canvas relined many years ago, paint and varnish very dirty with an overall toffee-coloured tone to the work. Stretcher marks showing around the margins. A fine but stable craquelure through most of the paint. Housed in a 19th-century gesso frame which is dirty but otherwise fine.
