A GOOD EARLY 19TH CENTURY CUIRASSIER HEAVY CAVALRY SWORD AND SCABBARD. With a 99.5cm straight single edged pointed blade with full length double fullers. With issue stamps to the top of the blade and indistinctly marked and dated 1819 to the back. With a heavy four bar brass hilt, wire bound grip and pommel cap with oval pommel, marked with issue marks and numbers to the bow '419'. In heavy steel scabbard with twin ring suspension. 120cm overall. This pattern was introduced in 1812 with scabbard fragments found on the battlefield at Waterloo *Condition: Slight pitting to scabbard, light marking to blade which is generally good, previous owners accession number.
