Tragic WW1 Seath family group including 3 brothers who were killed with:
1. Father's KGV Imperial Service Medal to Frederick Seath in box of issue. His award was announced in the London Gazette dated 17th September 1926, listed as Assistant Preventive Officer, Customs & Excise, London, with copy.
2. Son's 1914-15 Star, Victory Medal and Memorial Plaque to 8611 Sjt A.R. Seath Hamps R. (Pte on Star, Alfred Robert on plaque), with plaque folder of transmission. He was killed in action with 2nd Bn on 21st August 1917 aged 24 and is buried in Bleulet Farm Cemetery. With copied newspaper article including photo; "An Old Boy of Hither Green L.C.C. School, he joined the Army about 7 years ago and has seen service in Gallipoli, where he was wounded, and France. In a letter his Captain wrote "He had been up to the regiment with rations, and was returning when a shell burst quite close to him. He was killed instantaneously. He had been with me for 2 years and had many narrow escapes." With copied CWGC, Soldiers Died and MIC, landed Gallipoli 25/4/15.
3. Son's 1914 Star trio and Memorial Plaque to 12594 Sjt W. Seath R.A. (Dvr R.F.A. on Star, Walter on plaque). He died of wounds with 58th Bty, 35th Bde on 13th November 1917 aged 22 and is buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery. With copied CWGC, Soldiers Died and MIC, landed France 6/10/14.
4. Son's BWM, Victory Medal and Memorial Plaque to 615581 Pte H.F. Seath 19-Lond R. (Horace Francis on plaque). He was killed in action with 19th Bn on 22nd August 1918 aged 19 and is commemorated on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial. With copied newspaper article including photo; "He joined the Army on 16th May 1917 and was sent to France on 2nd April last. Mrs Seath received the following letter from an NCO: "Your son died through attempting to do a brave action - an action that should be rewarded by the V.C. He, a pal and myself were in a shell hole, and we heard that another of our boys was wounded and lying in another shell hole. Your son said he would go and fetch him in, so he got out of the shell hole, but before he had gone a couple of yards he was wounded by a machine gun bullet and died almost instantaneously. He was one of our brightest and most cheerful boys."With copied CWGC, Soldiers Died and MIC, only issued a pair.
5. Son's BWM and Victory Medal R-27320 Pte V.A. Seath K.R.Rif C. With copied MIC, Victor only issued a pair. In the newspaper article about Horace, Victor is mentioned: "Another son, Rifleman Victor Albert Seath, KRRC was wounded on 2nd October (1918) and is now in hospital in England. we are pleased to learn that he is recovering. Rifleman Seath has been wounded on a previous occasion, and has also been sent home with severely frozen feet. Another son is also serving, so that of Mr & Mrs Seath's sons, three have made the supreme sacrifice, one is in hospital wounded and another is serving."
6. WW2 1939-1945, Burma Stars, Defence Medal and BWM un-named as issued. These could be to Victor or if not, another family member. Also with copy of 1901 and 1911 Census and 2 badges.
