Emily ALLNUTT (1869-1944) Green Eyed Girl  Oil on panel, signed, 41 x 33cm Allnutt studied at the Slade and in Paris and first started exhibiting with the Society of Women Artists in 1899, when she was living in Windsor and was successful at the RA in 1905 and 1915. She first exhibited in St Ives in 1912 before moving there in 1924, she was a founder member of the St Ives Society of Artists. A bright and attratctive unframed portrait. There are a few minor surface abrasions, please see images. An historic crack to the length of the panel is just visible to the naked eye to front and verso, this appears to have been professionally reinforced using adhesive. There is a some overpainitng visible when examined under UV light predominantly to the fore and background.
