French champlevé and gilt metal oval jewellery box, c. early 20th century, with bird surmount on stump to the cover, foliate champlevé enamel to the cover and lower part of the casket, on scroll feet, approximately 13cm high and 24cm wide.
The surmounts and mounts are loose to touch. No key. Cover opens and closes, although the hinge is damaged. The roundels at the cover are misshapen and loose. Minor age-related losses to the enamel. There is age-related staining all over, more prominent to the underside.
