Scottish Postal History; 1841 (21 Nov.) entire Coylum Bridge to "Badanalloch" (for Ballindalloch ?) with Penny Red Imperf (4 margin) cancelled black MC. Very fine Lynwilg mileage mark on reverse, Ballindalloch datestamp on front. A bit grubby.
The letter reads "As I am very much in want of money just now to buy some necessarys for the winter I will feel much obliged to you in addition to former favours if you will do me the favour to send me an order on Major Cruickshank for a few pounds. You know I had not as much as a potatoe growing to me this season. My wife and Daughter being in a very bad state of health makes matters worse - In hopes of hearing from you as soon as convenient."
