Gavin Wallace is a socially aware, non-conformist photographer from Northampton, fusing an anti-establishment politic, with classical portraiture. Growing up in a working-class household, Gavin found little comfort in institutions that failed to inspire self-expression, turning instead to art and music.
With no formal training, Gavin began taking photos at dance music events in his mid-twenties and within a few short years found himself working with some of the biggest names in Drum & Bass, pioneering a photographic aesthetic that has been mimicked by photographers ever since. Maturing into a fine art photographer, Gavin has transformed the shadow of an unstable childhood into a torch highlighting socially vital messages, services and ordinary people living vibrant and courageous lives.
