A Japanese four-case lacquer inro, Meiji period, late 19th century, with simulated oxidized iron finish and applied mixed metal appliques including chrysanthemum, rooster, quail and deer, 9.5 cm long x 5 cm wide. Together with another four-case brown lacquer inro painted with gilt chrysanthemums, 8 cm long x 4.5 cm wide, and carved hardwood netsuke in the form of a seated Buddhistic lion with a two-character inscription. 3.4 cm long x 2,5 cm wide
