Queens Own Cameron Highlanders 1913 Officer's Sword By Wilkinson London
An example of a Levee pattern sword with a 2 cm wide blade. This with etched decoration of a crowned GVR cypher, the Regimental title and initials J.W.F.McL. The forte with the cutler's details and the back of the blade with the number 44321 (1913). The hilt with a three bar open guard, rounded chequered pommel and shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Complete with scabbard.
Attributed to Captain J.W.F. McLachlan OBE who was commissioned into the Regiment in September 1913. He landed in France with the 1st Bn on the 14th August 1914 and was later promoted to a Captain on the Staff.
