ISLE OF MAN - 6d LILAC COVER WITH RAMSEY DUPLEX "INSUFFICIENTLY/PREPAID" TO LONDON C.W.; Attractive 6 Dec. 1866 env. from the Isle of Man with Large White Letters 6d Lilac (pl.5) tied by a mainly fine scarce "RAMSEY/036" duplex addressed to "London, Canada West"; it weighed above the ½oz and so should have been prepaid 1s-4d (8d x2) so there is fine red "INSUFFICIENTLY/PREPAID" (?of Liverpool cds on back) and a m/s British claim of "1/1d" (deficient 10d + half 6d fine). The arrival charge was "34c" (double 17½c). A rare cover from this small Isle of Man P.O.
