A carved stone memento mori fragment, possibly alabaster, modelled in the 15th century Nottingham manner with high relief skulls and other bones, inset carved dragonfly to base, 35.5cm high

More Information

The piece shows numerous worn and pitted areas across the surface, and areas of greenish patination. There is a fracture running across the top left section of the piece. All the carved details show wear throughout, and there are likely to be areas of loss, although these are difficult to distinguish given the extent of the wear. The piece would require carbon dating to give an accurate indication of age, which we are unable to supply.
