A Scottish George III mahogany brass dial longcase clock The dial signed George Monro, Canongate The hood with swan-neck pediment and barley-twist columns, the case with shaped door flanked by conforming pilasters above a panelled base box, the 11.75in brass arched dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter, subsidiary seconds dial below 12, calendar aperture above 6, with moulded spandrels and the arch inscribed 'Geo. Monro Canongate', the eight-day movement with four knopped pillars, striking on a bell. With pendulum and two weights. 50cm wide x 25cm deep x 217cm high
