£260
George IV rosewood and brass inlaid decanter stand or sewing box, circa 1825, the top with canted corners, inlaid with foliate trails, and opening to an interior with a well, with pleated fabric, raised on turned and reeded legs with brass castors, width 53.5cm, depth 43cm, height 76cm
The piece has undergone restoration. There appear to be replaced brass inlays and other areas of infill to the top. Old knocks and scrapes visible and a horizontal split through the top. One of the back legs appears to be repaired as it joins the body of the piece, here it is a little weak. The fabric covering is a replacement. No further damage detected.
