A GEORGE III SILVER NUTMEG GRATER

maker's mark rubbed, London 1812, of reeded rectangular form with inverted corners, the gilt interior with a hinged steel rasp. 3.8cm long, 1.2 troy ounces gross



Two splits are at each end of the back of the piece where the hinges are. The hallmarks are clear, but the maker's mark is rubbed. There is visible wear to the bottom four corners and possibly a small split appearing in one corner. There are numerous small nicks and dings around the peace in general.
