A RUSSIAN LACQUER BOX, CIRCA 1910
rectangular with rounded corners, the hinged cover painted with a scene of two embracing agricultural workers, within a gilt-metal pique work border, the red painted interior bearing the imperial double-headed eagle and inscription. 10cm by 7.5cm
The hinged cover opens and closes well. The paint surface has craquelure, and there is a tiny dot of paint loss on his cheekbone. Otherwise, it is in good condition. This is a nice example.
