A pair of impressive Chinese Qing Dynasty, likely Jiaqing-Daoguang Period vases; late 18th / early 19th century each of baluster form, decorated with rural activities in a continuous mountainous and forested landscape, with hunter and fisherman walking through the trees above farming scenes with water buffalo, a pig, and paddy fields above fishing nets below, with double banded brick red border to the base and pink arabesques on turquoise border above below a gilded rim, the handles modelled as mythical beasts in blue with spots, and red border, on circular wooden bases the tops with beaded rims, raised on three scroll legs to a curved triform base and fluted bun feet, vases 88cm high, by 29.5 and 31cm diameter, stands 37cm diameter by 63cm high. The larger vase has an old crack to the neck with original staple repairs.
