Alan Caiger-Smith MBE (1930 – 21 February 2020): a twin handled pottery vase of large proportions, the cream ground decorated with pale green tones to form stylized flower decoration, glazed finish, raised on a cast iron stand, 148cm high. [Alan Caiger-Smith was the founder of Aldermaston Pottery, and was noted for his distinctive earthenware forms, evolved through the process of throwing and his understanding of historical Islamic ceramics.
