Star Lot : An original Reiner Karge (German b.1944-d. 1995) oil on canvas painting featuring a Saintly figure with the Italian village S. Gregorio appearing beyond. Signed Karge bottom right and dated 1989. Housed in a cream wooden frame. Karge sells well at auction with works fetching into the mid hundreds.

Karge's style is associated with Neo-Expressionism. During his lifetime he had exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, Monaco, Cannes, Nice, Bologna, Sanremo, Bordighera and Capo d'Orlando. For several years he taught painting and engraving in Sanremo.
