Nine albums of photographs which may possibly include a former sailor’s personal photographs from a world tour (see the first 4 photos) – as a few show HMS Leander in New Zealand and other countries and others are of a military/MoD interest such as office views of civilian workers in which hand-written captions mention they are taken before HMS Victory was moved into dry dock in Portsmouth (in 1923). Other photos include Australia, East Sussex, Pompeii, there is a small album of Tangier and Tetuan, with personal family views taken in Portsmouth, Lee on Solent at the family home etc. Strong social history, including a school sports day overseas (see photos) and tennis championships at Vancouver Island. There is also an album of Exmouth/Devon area interest. Some of the albums are in in poor condition. A few pages in some albums are incomplete or appear to have had photos removed, but all the many photos seem in good condition.
