£340
French bronze sculpture of a cavalier on horseback, late 19th Century, height 57cm, length 44cm
Originally with a base which is now missing. This piece was apparently 'magnet fished' from a canal in the Manchester area and has all the signs of degradation to the surface as one would expect. It is unsigned.
The weight is approximately 12kg.
The piece has obviously suffered. The tail has been off and re-attached. The tip of his sword is missing. The stirrup on his left and right foot is broken but is present. The reins are missing. Encrustations throughout.
No patina or colour remaining, however a wonderfully decorative piece because of the condition in our view.
