A worksplate, LMS NCC, MAKERS, BELFAST, 1936. The only locomotive recorded as built at the Northern Counties Committee's York Road Works, Belfast in 1936 was a 5ft 3ins gauge U2 Class 4-4-0 No 87 named QUEEN ALEXANDRA delivered in May 1936, although this was actually a rebuild of A Class compound No 63. It is, however, not unusual for workshops to record a rebuild as if it was a new build. Cast iron, 10¼"x6", loss of left side skilfully restored, the 'L' and 'BEL' affected. (Postage Band: C)
