German Third Reich Luftwaffe 2nd pattern Officer dagger with knot and straps by Eickhorn, Solingen. Good example, circa 1937-45, with spiral amber ivorine grip and twist wire binding, the plain blade bearing makers squirel logo. The aluminium crossguard and langet bearing a flying eagle and swastika; the pommel ornamented with gilt swastika and oakleaves. Housed in its stippled silvered metal scabbard fitted with two suspension rings and foliate lockets. Complete with aluminium wire knot and silver laced, velvet-backed slings with oakleaf ornamented rectangular buckles and spring-clips (one clip AF). Minor service wear. Generally VGC Introduced in July 1937.
