ENGLISH HANDLED MALLET WINE BOTTLE. 8ins tall, black/ dark green glass. Delightful hand applied scrolled handle (in manufacture flaws, exquisitely rolled over bottom section), deep kick up, base pontil. The long tapering neck very skilfully finished with a perfect pouring lip. Full body sheen with just minor general wear marks. This is an exceptional offering, although later in date but so very much rarer than a handled sealed onion bottle - perhaps the only recorded primarily undamaged example? A unique opportunity to acquire a particularly significant, very rare, early form?
