Two Chinese late 19th century/early 20th century rice paper paintings, depicting an emperor with attendant holding his ruyi sceptre, the other depicting a noblewoman and her attendant, each within black painted frames with gilt inner borders, 32.5 cm high x 20 cm wide
Condition report:
emperor picture: tear from his left elbow up towards the green panel, tear top left of the picture, vertical tear to the emperor's black headpiece and small horizontal tear to his belt. Minor tear to the attendant's headpiece. Vertical tears to the right of the picture.
Other picture: diagonal tear below the attendant's neck, no other main tear, some foxing and stains to the paper, pressed in mark lower left of picture.
Some losses to both frames with surface scratches and wear
