DOULTON BABY INKWELL. 3.3ins tall. Stoneware salt glaze model of detailed baby holding both arms down (when open forms pen rest, flake to one lug). Decorative border around bottom, bib & sleeves - picked out in cream, lower green. Registered in 1907 (no. 537190) the baby is very occasionally found impressed Votes for Women but was registered the year before the Virago housewife usually carrying the suffragette slogan. Underside of head inscribed, base has various Doulton impressed marks.
