F. BENNET ONION BOTTLE. ASB p1050. c1710-1720 in which author David suggests possibly Dorset? 6ins tall. Olive green glass, short tapering neck, wonderful round edged flared string rim. Irregular bulbous body with large seal on curve of the shoulder. Deep circular base kick up with a rough, probably sand pontil scar. Chips to lip & difficult to detect star crack. Only example recorded. This is the exact same bottle which sold on ebay in 2004 for £2,060. Various DWB base stickers - great provenance.
