Edward IV (1461-1470), First reign, Ryal or Rose-noble of ten shillings, light coinage (1464-70) king standing in ship holding upright sword with a shield bearing the quartered coat of arms, flag with lombardic 'E' to left, rose on ships hull,. Reverse crowned leopards in angles within tressure of eight arcs, rose on star in centre, large lis in spandrels, mintmark crown, (S.1950; N.1549; Blunt & Whitt on VII). About extremely fine and pleasing strike. Slight wave in flan.
