It is oil on board, not canvas (there is canvas type covering over the board, seen verso), some craquelure, there is a crack or line running along the lower section inline with the edge of lower stretcher, partial lines to upper and side sections where the board touches the stretchers. Slim oval area in the water below the sterns where it has been overpainted, overpainted following craquelure and stretcher marks, some further overpainting in the sea
