£12,000
A late 19th/early 20th century diamond set tiara converting to necklace, the central fleur-de-lys motif with three further graduated fleur-de-lys motifs to either side, diamond accents interspersed throughout, all set in white metal and cut down setting edge, yellow metal to reverse, tiara screws off mount to form necklace (lacking chain) within original fitted 'Frazer and Haws' case, tallest fleur-de-lys 5cm, smallest 2.5cm, total diamond weight estimated 8ct
(with compartment housing screw driver)
All screw fittings function, however one is slightly trickier to unscrew.
Reverse to fluer de lys motif '3' has been repaired to the base of the join.
The necklace shows good articulation.
Motif 2, 4, and 6 are hooked at the base of the scroll enabling them to hang freely when worn as a necklace.
Minor signs of wear and marks throughout the reverse of the necklace/tiara commensurate with age and use (seen with x10 loupe)
Links are worn in places.
Screw fittings are worn commensurate with use.
The diamonds in tiara/necklace are combination of old cuts and mixed cuts, some may be replacements.
All appear bright and lively.
Some discolouration to the setting edge, may benefit from a clean.
Frame shows a slight twist, doesn't effect the structure of the tiara.
Screw to right of frame where necklace 'hooks' onto frame will require attention as is stuck.
Chain for necklace conversion is not present, however was always worn by vendor with a thin ribbon.
Box in good condition with some wears of storage to exterior.
Overall the appearance of tiara is impressive in our opinion.
