A French Napoleonic, late 18th century, bronze mortar/bombard cannon dated 1793 inscribed end of trunnion "MAGNES FECIT A BAYONNE 1793", (Magnes made at Bayonne 1793) inscribed "8" top of barrel, 18 7/8in. (48cm.) long, 3 3/8in. (8.6cm.) bore. *Bayonne is a city in the Basque Country region of south west France close to the border with Spain.
