A LATE 19TH CENTURY ELKINGTON PLATE CHARGER PRESENTED TO THE BEAUMARIS REGATTA after a design by Morel-Ladeuil. The central boss depicts putti in relief around a display of flowers. The border with six relief panels with maidens representing the astrological signs. The middle band with mythical beasts, ringed planets and the first six months, presentation inscription in gothic script around the raised inner rim reads 'Beaumaris Regatta, 2nd August 1881, won by The Lily' (54cm diameter)
