More Information

The piece shows fine surface crazing and scratching throughout, and a very fine hairlines to the body where the back of the handle joins. On one flower petal a craze line has begun to open slightly, resulting in a small loss to the glaze. One petal of the other flower shows a small flaked loss to the tip. There is an area of what appear to be dark firing frits adjacent to this flower. the base rim shows a loss to one corner and a kiln mark to the opposite corner, with further glazing faults to the base. There is no visible evidence of repair or restoration, however the piece is dirty and the dirt may conceal further issues.
