A pair of Japanese mirror image Satsuma vases, Meiji period, the shoulder painted with a geometric band above a band of fans, the tapering bodies painted with a fan shape panel with seated figures, within a mountainous landscape with a pagoda and trees, each signed Hakuzan, 24.5cm; and Strachan, Elaine; My Passion for Japanese Cloisonne, Satsuma and Related Wares

Condition report: One vase with discolouration in the crazed glaze to the rear of the vase, a small speckle of gilding missing on the rim. The other vase, whilst in good order, has some rubbing to the gilding on the band around the bottom. Otherwise, both vases are in good condition with no obvious chips, cracks or signs of restoration.
