Naval General Service Medal 1915, George V (swivel suspender), with clasp: Persian Gulf 1909-1914; named to: 302562 S Dunlop, Sto 1 Cl, HMS Pelorus.
Stewart Dunlop was born on 15 November 1884 in Omagh, Co Tyrone, and enlisted into the Royal Navy on 3 January 1903. He served on the cruiser HMS Pelorus from
1912-1914 during which time the ship was engaged in operations for the suppression of the arms traffic in the Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf, for which he
received the new Naval General Service Medal. He served throughout WW1 and was awarded the 1914/115 Star, The British War Medal and Victory Medal. From
1921 he served for three years in the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy and was finally discharged to pension as a Stoker Petty Officer on 2 January 1925. Some
contact marking from the 1914/15 Star, otherwise Very Fine. With copy of his service record and extract from WW1 medal roll.
