A Chinese bronze and calcified jade Northern Wei figure of Guanyin, probably 20th century, with heavy verdigris patination, Guanyin standing in front of a lotus petal shaped mandorla, with a border of flames, inscription verso, the four legged base mounted atop a mottled, pale celadon jade square tapered base, carved with masks and with dragon handles, 8½in. (21.5cm.) high. Two small chips to corners of the jade base. The jade and base of the bronze with some heavily encrusted deposits, which may be artificial aging. A small fracture to one of the legs of the stand on the bronze.
