A 19th century lilac silk two-piece ensemble, the silk woven with vertical cream stripes and sprays of flowers, the bottom six inches of the skirt faced with cream glazed cotton, slightly trained, the waist with gathers, (probably altered), the fitted bodice pointed at the front, fastening with hooks and eyes, a ruffle of pink silk concealing the opening, with matching panels on the sleeves, cording to all seams, lined in cream cotton with silk ribbon facing
Fading to the skirt, some soiling at the hem and here and there on the skirt. The bodice appears clean, the colours stronger, underarms sound and not stained.
