1793-1840 NGSM Navarino clasp to Henry S. Dyer Admls Secy extremely fine. With original box of issue and ribbon. He was serving as Vice Admiral Sir Edward Codrington's secretary on HMS Asia during the battle and suffered severe lacerations to the shoulder, which on the casualty roll is listed as healing slowly. He was mentioned in Codrington's dispatches in London Gazette dated 10th November 1827 "Mr Henry S. Dyer, my secretary, having received a severe contusion from a splinter, I am deprived temporarily of his valuable assistance in collecting and keeping up the general returns and communication."
