Star Lot: A large, beautiful original oil on canvas painting titled "Soulmates" by the prize-winning Irish artist Margaret Kennedy, dating to 2018. Features a beautifully observed study of a fine grey horse and charming little donkey in a stables. Nicely rendered in delicate brushstrokes with great attention to light and shade. Margaret Kennedy is a contemporary prize-winning Irish artist. She spent many years working in the equestrian environment, which enables her to extract great detail, movement and personality of her subjects in her paintings. She works in a realistic manner, paying special attention to detail and form and emphasis on composition and the incredible effects of the juxtaposing of light and shade. Her work is represented in many private collections in Ireland and abroad, and has participated in a number of group exhibitions. More recently, Margaret has become a successful author, with her first book "Mr. Luggie Tatters" being published in 2006.
