Fees

An Edwardian silver combination vesta and stamp case by William Oliver, Birmingham 1906, of rectangular form with hinged cover, secondary cover to one side opening to reveal gilt stamp compartment, engraved scrolling decoration to exterior, 50mm x 34mm, weight 26.8gms (at fault)

More Information

Overall condition is good. The cover to the stamp compartment is broken at the hinge; the hinge pin has broken on one side, however it is still attached on the other side, and the cover still opens and closes properly and securely, but is slightly wobbly. The vesta cover opens smoothly and closes with a snap. The hallmarks to the inside lip are clear. It appears there may have been an engraving to the central cartouche at some point, but this is now largely worn away. There is denting to the sides and cover, concentrated to the top of the cover. General scratching, wear and tear to the outside case consistent with age and use.
