£1,800 - £2,000
1981 Kawasaki GPZ 1100, 1100 cc. Registration number YRP 302W. Frame number KZT10B004717. Engine number KZT10BE004553. The Kawasaki GPz1100 B1 was manufactured in 1981 being replaced by the B2 in 1982. Both models featured a four-cylinder, two-valve air-cooled engine design producing 108 bhp and then 109 bhp in the B2. This engine was an evolution of the powerplant used in the previous KZ1000 series, itself descended from the Z1. Cosmetically, both the B1 and B2 were released in a bright red paint called "Firecracker Red", the B2 was also available in a gold colour called "Sonic Gold". The red colour theme was a departure from early colour schemes and started the marketing campaign called the "Red Revolution" featuring the 1100, 900, 750 and 550 models. This example was imported into the UK in 1994 and the original fuel injection system has been changed to more reliable carburettors, it also has several period modifications including a Micron front fork brace. Owned by Sheridan Cross of Milton Keynes from June 2005, the next owner was Nicholas Crane, of the same town, our vendor bought it in about 2015 with about 40,000 kilometers on the clock with the intention of making an Eddie Lawson replica of it, then he bought a real Lawson replica so it now surplus to requirements. Sold with the V5C and a 2015 MOT, it will make a good basis for a replica or return it to the road.
