A large bronze medal issued to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee of 1887. Obverse designed by Joseph Edgar Boehm depicts portrait of Queen Victoria with diamond crown in profile. Reverse designed by Sir Frederick Leighton inscribed ‘IN · COMMEMORATION' depicts enthroned figure of the Queen attended by gods, goddesses and cherubs with shields beneath inscribed 'ASIA', 'AMERICA', 'EUROPE', 'AUSTRALASIA' and 'AFRICA'. 7.7 cm diameter.
Condition report: Some age related wear as illustrated.
