A XIX Century French Heavy Cavalry Klingenthal 'Cuirassier' Sword, brass four branch guard with matching pommel cap, leather wrapped wired grip, straight double fullered blade with two ring steel scabbard, blade has various markings, including year of manufacture possibly 1813(?).

Lot 498 - damage noted to first hanger band, no serial number identified on scabbard, blade 960mm, scabbard 1005mm, no jiggle to pommel grip in reasonable condition. Blade in fair condition with some minor nicks and two small indentations on back edge. Some slight distortion to cross guard. Inscription is worn, scabbard has rust and there is a minor dent above distorted first hanger band. Query over date, please see description.
