1882-90 1r slate clever postal forgery on yellowish wove, and philatelic forgery with gum and distinctive printed simulated ‘Star' watermark, postal forgery with thin patch and trimmed perfs at right, still an interesting and rare pair. SG 101var The discovery of this and other cruder forgeries led to the withdrawal of the 1r slate and its replacement by the 1892 1r bicoloured green and carmine.
