A California Bowie Knife by George Wostenholm, etched and gilded blade with staghorn grip, original leather sheath stamped IXL, with unmarked white metal mounts, overall length 37cm, blade length 24cm
Blade has some slight surface pitting and signs of previous tarnishing or rust, blade has an engraved stag hunting scene. Only 1 minor 1cm surface crack near guard, otherwise only general surface wear
