A pair of Japanese Satsuma pottery vases, signed Hankizan, Meiji period, each finely painted with an oval reserve depicting scholars, a central band of boys playing between bands of butterflies and thousand flowers, brocade pattern borders, six character seal mark to base, 8.9cm high
Both vases have some wear to the gilding on the rims and around the edge of the foot, both a little grubby in places, otherwise in good condition with no restoration, chips, or cracks detected.
