An 1827 pattern infantry officer's sword, blade 32" marked "Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London", etched with "VR", crown and foliage etc; in its plated scabbard with later engraving "This sword was worn by William George Humphrey Bunkis in the action at Lucknow on the 19th March 1858 where he fell severely wounded and died on the 6th April 1858". Generally GC but the blade has some severe patches of pitting) £250-300
